Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith [MGKVP] के बारे में :

महात्मा गांधी काशी विद्यापीठ वाराणसी या बनारस, उत्तर प्रदेश, भारत में स्थित एक सार्वजनिक विश्वविद्यालय है। 1921 में काशी विद्यापीठ के रूप में स्थापित और बाद में इसका नाम बदलकर इसे उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार के राज्य विधानमंडल के तहत प्रशासित किया गया। विश्वविद्यालय में छह जिलों (वाराणसी, चंदौली, भदोही, मिर्जापुर, सोनभद्र, बलिया) में फैले 350+ से अधिक संबद्ध कॉलेज हैं। यह उत्तर प्रदेश में सबसे बड़े राज्य विश्वविद्यालयों में से एक है, जिसमें सैकड़ों हजारों छात्र ग्रामीण और शहरी दोनों हैं। यह कला, विज्ञान, वाणिज्य, कानून, कम्प्यूटिंग और प्रबंधन में व्यावसायिक और शैक्षणिक पाठ्यक्रमों की एक श्रृंखला प्रदान करता है। महात्मा गांधी काशी विद्यापीठ ने राष्ट्रीय मूल्यांकन और प्रत्यायन परिषद से बी + दर्जा प्राप्त किया है।

स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के असहयोग आंदोलन के दौरान बाबू शिव प्रसाद गुप्त और भगवान दास ने 10 फरवरी 1921 को वाराणसी में विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना की। मूल रूप से काशी विद्यापीठ के नाम पर, विश्वविद्यालय का नाम बदलकर 1995 में महात्मा गांधी काशी विद्यापीठ (MGKVP) रखा गया। इसका उद्घाटन महात्मा गांधी ने किया था।
